A full-bodied and well-balanced wine with aromas of ripe cherries, dark plums, spices, cedar and a touch of vanilla from oak barrels. Soft but structured tannins and a long, elegant aftertaste make the wine both powerful and sophisticated.

Lyhnid i Kuq is an elegant red wine from Kantina Caco, named after the historical name Lyhnid for Lake Ohrid. The wine is made from Albania’s own classic blue grape, Shesh i Zi, which gives it a unique and authentic character. The grapes are grown on the slopes around Pogradec, where the microclimate and mineral-rich soil create a harmonious balance in the wine. Medium-bodied and fruity wine with aromas of ripe cherries, blackberries, raspberries and subtle herbal notes. Silky tannins and a balanced acidity give a soft and inviting finish.

Lyhnid is the ancient name of Lake Ohrid. The lake has a very strong influence on the microclimate of the area and thus directly affects the quality of the grapes grown around it. In order to create a product that best reflects the unique character of the area and the identity of the producer, the Caco winery presents the Lyhnid i Bardhë wine, a harmonious blend of the most widely grown grape varieties in the vineyards of the Pogradec region: Tokai, Riesling and Muskat. Light and aromatic with notes of green apples, citrus, pear and white flowers. The wine has a fresh acidity, minerality from the soil near the lake and a clean, refreshing finish.
